This program can help you get free equipment to use the phone if you are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, deaf-blind, or have any other challenges in making calls. Equipment may include:

  • A hands-free telephone
  • A loud bell ringer
  • A phone with a screen to read your conversation
  • A teletypewriter 

A teletypewriter is a machine you connect to your telephone. It lets you type a message to an operator who will read it to the person you are calling.
