Create AccountSpecial Transit
Special Transit provides you with wheelchair-accessible, door-to-door transportation if you cannot use any other private or public transportation services. You will need to call the program each time you need a ride. Service is available in most areas of Boulder County and can include:
- Paratransit services: This includes low-cost, wheelchair-accessible transportation in small buses for people who have limited mobility. You choose where you want to go.
- Volunteer driver programs: Red Cross and other volunteer programs provide transportation services using volunteer drivers and private cars.
- Family and friends mileage reimbursement: This reimburses Special Transit riders for the mileage expenses of family members, friends, or neighbors who provide you with a ride when Special Transit cannot. You cannot use this reimbursement for rides you already depend on others to provide.
- Easy rider program: This travel training program teaches you how to safely and confidently use public transportation.
