How can this program help me?

The Homestead Exemption Program offers a tax exemption (tax break) for some older adults. This exemption can lower the amount of property tax you pay each year. It may lower your home’s assessed (estimated) value, up to a certain amount set by the program. The assessed value is the dollar amount used to decide how much you will have to pay in property taxes.

How do I get help?

To apply for this program, print and fill out the application form and mail it to your local tax office. If you have a disability, please send the Disability Certificate with your complication application.
