Illinois Senior Citizens Real Estate Tax Deferral Program
How can this program help me?
This program provides a way to delay payment of property tax. Through this program, you can postpone paying the taxes on your primary home (where you live full-time). The state will charge interest on any property tax you delay. The delayed taxes and all interest charged must be repaid to the state if you sell or transfer your property.
How do I get help?
Please contact your local tax assessor's office to find out how to apply.
