California Veterans’ Exemption Program
How can this program help me?
This program offers a property tax exemption (tax break) to help you lower the amount of property tax you pay. The exemption is only for people who own limited personal or real property.
Please note that California also offers a Disabled Veteran’s Exemption. If you qualify for that program, it may benefit you to claim that tax break instead of this one.
How do I apply?
To apply for this program, contact your county tax assessor’s office.
