California Property Tax Postponement Program
How can this program help me?
The California Property Tax Postponement program may let you postpone (delay) paying property taxes on the home you live in. You must meet certain guidelines. The state will charge interest on any delayed property tax. You have to pay the amount back to the state in certain cases, such as when you move or sell your property, refinance, or get a reverse mortgage.
How do I get help?
Applications are accepted between October and February each year. To find out how to apply for this program, contact your local tax assessor's office.
