California Prescription Drug Discount Program For Medicare Recipients
2 min read
Share

If you have Medicare, you can get discounts on your prescription drugs. You will pay the Medi-Cal price for your prescription drugs. In addition, there is a small fee to process your prescription (around 15 cents per prescription). You must use a pharmacy that participates in the Medi-Cal program when filling your prescriptions to get the discount. Ask if your pharmacy is a Medi-Cal partipant. Most pharmacies in the state participate in Medi-Cal and other pharmacies may choose to give the discounted rates but they do not have to do so.

How do I get the discount?

You do not need to apply for this discount program – you get it if you have Medicare. To get the discount, you must show your Medicare card to the pharmacist when filling your prescription at a pharmacy that accepts Medi-Cal.
