This program gives you extra money for an emergency if you already get Supplemental Security Income. Supplemental Security Income is money from the federal government that helps you pay for everyday expenses. Emergency needs include:

  • New clothes or furniture lost in a fire or other emergency
  • Moving expenses  
  • Help paying rent or utility bills
  • Repairs on a fridge or cooking equipment
  • Replacing a fridge or cooking equipment
