This program can help you if you are blind or have low vision. A counselor will come to your home and assess your current living situation, identify any difficulties you are having, and educate you on ways to improve your personal independence. The counselor can provide knowledge and services, such as:

  • Guidance on how to move safely around your home
  • Education on how to use household appliances
  • Instruction on how to cook safely
  • Training on how to use a cane
  • Optical aides at no cost
  • Access to talking books
