Blind Services can help you stay independent, prepare for employment, or keep the job you have if you are blind or have low vision. Services may include:

• Evaluation of your abilities by figuring out what you can do on your own and what you may have a hard time doing
• Orientation and mobility instruction that teaches you how to travel independently around your home, workplace, and community
• Assistive technology equipment or devices you can use to help with daily activities, such as eating, bathing, and cooking; communication aids for hearing; speaking devices; and wheeled scooters
• Vocational guidance, career counseling, and training services
• Help with job placement into suitable employment
• Personal assistance services, such as a scribe to write for you, a reader, or a personal care attendant

You can also get services through other programs such as the Randolph-Sheppard Business Enterprise Program and Older Blind/Visually Impaired Program.
