This program helps you so that you can continue living at home instead of moving into a nursing home. You will get help with activities of daily living such as: cleaning, cooking, and other light housekeeping. The CHCPE can also help you with some medical needs by providing a visiting nurse or home health aide.

There are two parts to the program: CHCPE State-Funded and the CHCPE Medicaid Waiver. Depending on which part of the program you qualify for, you may have to pay a cost for the services and there may be a waiting list.

This program is not offered in every state, and within the states that offer the program it isn't available in all areas. It also may only be available at certain times of the year.
