The Transportation Benefit Program offers a valuable service to older adults in the community. This program, which operates under the name of Senior Transportation, is designed to help older adults access the transportation they need to get around town conveniently and safely. Participants can utilize this program to access bus or train services, as well as transportation via a van for those who may require additional assistance. One of the key features of the program is its flexibility in accommodating a variety of transportation needs. Whether an older adult needs a ride to a medical appointment, the grocery store, or a social outing, the program is there to help. To ensure efficient service, riders are asked to schedule their trips at least one week in advance, allowing for proper coordination of transportation resources. Curb-to-curb transportation is provided, ensuring that participants can be picked up and dropped off at their desired locations. Additionally, the program operates on a donation basis, with services offered free of charge but donations welcomed. This model promotes community support and ensures the program's sustainability for the benefit of all older adults who rely on it for their transportation needs. By providing a reliable and accessible transportation option, the Transportation Benefit Program plays a crucial role in enhancing the independence and quality of life for older adults in the community.
