The Senior Transportation program offers door-to-door transportation services for older adults, allowing them to travel conveniently for non-emergency medical appointments, errands, or social outings. This program utilizes taxis to provide private rides, ensuring personalized and comfortable transportation for riders. To use the service, older adults need to schedule their rides at least one day in advance, giving them the flexibility to plan their trips accordingly.
Moreover, the program offers various payment options, such as insurance, vouchers, donations, and credit cards, making it accessible to a wide range of older adults. Pricing details are transparent, with a flat fee structure and options for co-payments depending on the distance traveled. Riders also have the flexibility to choose on-demand scheduling or pre-schedule rides a few days or even a week in advance, catering to different transportation needs.
Additionally, the program provides additional support such as assistance with packages or bags and allows riders to travel with service animals if needed. With curb-to-curb and door-to-door transportation services available, older adults can rely on this program to access public transit options like buses or trains, or opt for paratransit services via vans to reach their destinations comfortably and safely.
