Public Transit is a comprehensive transportation program designed to assist older adults in accessing essential services and community resources. This program offers convenient and affordable transportation options, including taxi services at discounted rates. In Sturgeon Bay, rides within the standard service area are priced at $3 per one-way trip for the general public, while older adults and individuals with disabilities enjoy a reduced fare of $1.50 for the same route. For destinations outside the standard zone, the fare increases to $6 for the general public and $3 for eligible riders. In addition to taxi services, Public Transit also provides transportation through connector routes, with fares ranging from $2 to $5 for one-way trips. To ensure a seamless experience, riders are encouraged to schedule their rides in advance, allowing for efficient planning and allocation of resources. Payments for the transportation services can be made conveniently by cash or check, accommodating various preferences. Moreover, Public Transit extends its support through van services, further enhancing accessibility for older adults with diverse mobility needs.
