Provides rides for only the following purposes: medical appointments. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are a veteran. No membership is required.
The Veterans Transportation program offers convenient and reliable non-emergency medical transportation for older adults. Operating as a public transit service, this program uses taxis to provide private rides for those who require assistance getting to medical appointments, running errands, or attending social engagements. Riders can schedule their trips in advance, typically requiring at least a day's notice, and have the option to pay for the service through insurance, vouchers, donations, or membership fees.
Part of the funding for this program comes from rider donations, making it possible for spouses and caregivers to accompany older adults on their trips when space is available. The program is designed to cater to those with mobility challenges, offering door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation as necessary. Additionally, service animals are welcome on board, ensuring that riders can travel with their furry companions. With flexible payment options including credit cards, checks, Medicaid, and even cash, Veterans Transportation aims to make getting around town as seamless and stress-free as possible for older adults who require assistance with their transportation needs.
