Provides rides for only the following purposes: medical appointments. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.
Dignified Senior Transportation is a versatile transportation program designed to cater to the diverse needs of older adults. This non-emergency medical transportation service offers a range of options, including transportation via taxi, public transit like buses or trains, and private car rides. The program operates on an hourly rate basis and accommodates various payment methods such as insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, Medicaid, checks, credit cards, or cash.
Riders are encouraged to schedule their trips in advance, with flexibility ranging from next-day to several days or even weeks ahead of time. The program ensures affordability by requesting a nominal donation of $0.51 per mile, which goes towards covering volunteer service costs, although lack of funds does not preclude individuals from accessing the service. Additionally, riders can benefit from unique features such as assistance with packages, door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation, and the option to have a driver wait during appointments or errands.
With a commitment to inclusivity, Dignified Senior Transportation welcomes service animals on board and provides paratransit services for those with mobility challenges. Whether older adults require a quick taxi ride, a fixed-route bus service, or a shared van trip, this program aims to meet their transportation needs effectively and reliably.
