The In-Home Care transportation program offers convenient and reliable non-emergency medical transportation services for older adults. This program utilizes taxis as a mode of transportation and is also considered a public transit service. Riders are required to schedule their rides at least one day in advance and have the option to pay for the services using insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, or Medicaid payments. Members of the program may be charged a flat fee or an hourly rate, with additional mileage costs if using their caregiver's vehicle. In cases where advanced scheduling is necessary, riders are encouraged to plan their transportation needs a few days to a week in advance. The program provides private rides using cars or vans, and also offers paratransit services, ensuring that riders with packages and bags are assisted as needed. Furthermore, the In-Home Care program allows for on-demand scheduling, shared rides, and provides transportation on fixed routes, offering flexibility and convenience to older adults with varying mobility requirements. Riders can expect door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation, and service animals are permitted to accompany passengers on their journeys. Accepted payment methods include check, pre-payment, credit card, and cash, catering to the diverse preferences of older adults using the program.
