Provides rides for any purpose, as long as you meet one of the following criteria: you have a disability.
The transportation benefit program, known as the Senior & Disabled Transportation, is designed to provide non-emergency medical transportation services to individuals requiring assistance. The program offers two types of transportation options: cabulance for those needing specialized assistance, starting at $35.00 for pick up plus $3.75 per mile, and ambulatory services for more independent riders, starting at $15.00 for pick up plus $3.75 per mile.
To utilize this program, older adults need to arrange their rides in advance, with a notice of a few days. Payment for the transportation services can be conveniently made using credit cards. The program predominantly uses vans for transportation and charges based on the distance traveled. One key aspect to keep in mind when utilizing this program is the importance of scheduling rides in advance to ensure timely transportation for medical appointments or other necessary trips.
