The Public Transportation program is an accessible and convenient transportation service designed to meet the needs of older adults. This program offers non-emergency medical transportation through taxi services, public transit options like buses and trains, as well as paratransit services using vans or private vehicles. Riders have the flexibility to schedule rides in advance, with options for on-demand scheduling available as well.
One of the key features of this program is its affordability, with pricing details set at a reasonable rate of $1 for a one-way trip or $2 for an all-day pass. Payment options include insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, credit cards, and cash, ensuring that older adults can choose the most convenient method for them. Additionally, riders can also avail of pre-payment and membership options for added convenience.
Furthermore, the Public Transportation program prioritizes the comfort and safety of older adults, offering door-to-door transportation, assistance with packages or bags, and allowing service animals to accompany riders. With a focus on reliability and accessibility, this program is dedicated to providing older adults with a reliable means of transportation to support their independence and mobility.
