Provides rides for any purpose, as long as you meet one of the following criteria: you have a disability.
Dial-a-Ride/Paratransit is a program specifically designed to provide non-emergency medical transportation for older adults who may have mobility challenges and require assistance getting to medical appointments, running errands, or attending social activities. This program offers convenient transportation options such as taxi services, bus or train rides, and private car rides. To utilize this service, riders need to schedule their trips in advance, typically at least a day or more depending on the specific requirements.
One of the key features of Dial-a-Ride/Paratransit is its flexibility in payment options. Riders have the choice to pay through insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, or even Medicaid payments. Additionally, the program may charge a flat fee, membership fee, or operational fees based on the specific services provided. For those who prefer the ease of payment, credit card, cash, or check options are accepted.
Moreover, this program ensures a comfortable and accessible ride for all participants. It offers door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation, allowing older adults to travel with ease from their pick-up location to their destination. Service animals are welcome onboard, and riders can benefit from additional assistance with packages or bags. Whether it's a scheduled appointment or a last-minute outing, Dial-a-Ride/Paratransit provides reliable transportation services tailored to the unique needs of older adults within the community.
