This program connects you with a VA counselor if you're a veteran going through a personal crisis. It's also available to family or friends of veterans. You can get help over the phone, online or through text messages. The crisis line is always open and your conversations are never shared.


How do I get help from the Veterans Crisis Line?

To reach the Veteran Crisis Line by phone, dial 988 and press 1. If you use a relay service, dial 711 then 800-273-8255. You can also talk with a responder online through the Veterans Crisis Line Online Chat. If you want to talk using text messages, send your message to 838255.
