The Paratransit Program is a flexible and convenient transportation service tailored to meet the needs of older adults requiring non-emergency medical transportation. This program offers safe and reliable transportation via taxi for individuals who may struggle with traditional public transit options. Riders have the option to schedule rides in advance, ensuring timely and efficient travel to their desired destinations. For trips up to 5 miles outside of the city, a small fee of $4 each way applies, while longer distances and journeys to and from Washington, DC incur a fee of $6 each way. In addition to accepting insurance payments and vouchers, this program also welcomes donations and offers membership options for regular users.
