Harris County Community Services Department offers several programs to help during emergencies. ​ 

  • Emergency Utility Assistance - This program helps pay your past due gas, water and electric bill. You must have received a disconnect notice from your utility company.
  • Rental/Mortgage Assistance - This program helps pay past due rent or mortgage if you have a rental vacate notice or a past due mortgage.
  • Bereavement Services - This program makes sure that low income residents who die in Harris County are able to have a simple funeral service and burial.
