This program can help you get equipment to use the phone if you have problems with hearing, vision, speaking or other challenges in making calls. Equipment may include:

  • Hands-free telephone
  • Loud bell ringer
  • Machines that translate conversations into Braille 
  • Teletypewriter 

A teletypewriter is a machine you connect to your phone. It lets you type a message to an operator who reads it to the person you are calling.
