Learn More About This Program

Please make sure to contact Alamo Area Council of Governments: Veterans Transportation to confirm details of their transportation services.

Provides rides for any purpose, as long as you meet one of the following criteria: you are a veteran.

The Veterans Transportation program provides a valuable service for older adults who have served in the military. This program operates on donations and encourages contributions to support its operations. Riders can schedule shared van rides with curb-to-curb transportation services for free, making it an accessible option for those in need of transportation assistance. It is important to plan ahead and schedule rides at least a few days in advance through the Rides In Advance system. Service animals are permitted to accompany riders, ensuring that older adult veterans can travel with their furry companions as needed. By participating in the Veterans Transportation program, older adults can access reliable transportation to get to their medical appointments, social engagements, or other important destinations.
