The Mobility Impaired & Senior Transportation program offers non-emergency medical transportation services for older adults. This public transit program utilizes taxis to provide convenient and accessible transportation for its riders. To use the program, older adults must schedule their rides at least one day in advance and can pay for the service using insurance, vouchers, donations, or Medicaid. The program offers private rides in cars or vans, as well as shared rides on fixed routes via bus or train.
Riders of this program can expect to pay a flat fee or a membership fee, with fares for older adults priced at $1.50 for each one-way trip. The program allows for on-demand scheduling and accommodates riders who need to bring packages, bags, or service animals along during their journey. Additionally, the program ensures a high level of service by offering door-to-door and curb-to-curb transportation, as well as providing a driver who can wait for the older adult while they run errands or attend appointments.
