The Senior Transportation program offers reliable non-emergency medical transportation services to older adults through taxi services and public transit options. Riders have the convenience of scheduling rides in advance, typically requiring at least one day's notice, and can pay for their trips using insurance, vouchers, donations, or membership fees. The program also accommodates Medicaid payments and allows for various payment methods such as credit cards, pre-payments, and cash.
In addition to individual private rides, the program provides shared transportation services via vans or fixed-route buses and trains, charging fares based on distance traveled. Riders can enjoy door-to-door or curb-to-curb services, with friendly drivers willing to wait for passengers during errands or appointments. Service animals are welcome onboard, and rides can be scheduled on-demand or on a fixed schedule, ensuring older adults have the flexibility they need for their transportation needs.
