RIDES is a comprehensive transportation program specifically designed to cater to the needs of older adults. This program offers convenient and affordable transportation services using cars and vans. For shared rides, customers are charged based on the distance traveled, with prices ranging from $6.00 to $42.00. Customers only pay 50% of the total cost of the ride. Additionally, for taxi services, the cost is determined by the metered fare and customers are responsible for 50% of the trip cost, up to a maximum of $48.00 for a one-way trip. To utilize the RIDES program, older adults are required to schedule their rides in advance, allowing for efficient planning and coordination. Payments can be made using checks, cash, or through pre-payment options, providing flexibility for customers. The program also accommodates on-demand scheduling, ensuring that older adults have access to transportation when needed.
