The In-Home Care program offers non-emergency medical transportation services for older adults through taxi rides, public transit options such as buses and trains, as well as private car services. Riders are required to schedule their transportation at least one day in advance, with the flexibility to choose on-demand scheduling or book rides further in advance. The program accepts various forms of payment, including insurance, vouchers, donations, membership fees, flat fees, Medicaid payments, pre-payments, credit cards, checks, and cash. Riders have the option to receive door-to-door transportation that follows fixed routes, and they can also benefit from shared rides, where multiple passengers may travel together. The program prioritizes riders' comfort and convenience by offering assistance with packages or bags, allowing service animals on board, and providing drivers who are willing to wait for passengers during errands or appointments. Additionally, the program accommodates different scheduling needs, from last-minute requests to reservations made several days or even weeks in advance.
