Country Bus is a public transit program that offers affordable transportation options for older adults, persons with disabilities, registered CARTS customers, and children under 12. The program operates on a zone-based pricing system. Trips within a city or town fall under Zone 1, priced at $2.00 (or $1.00 for eligible riders). For trips originating and ending within the same county, Zone 2 fares are $4.00 ($2.00 for eligible riders). Trips with destinations outside the county of origin are classified under Zone 3, priced at $6.00 ($3.00 for eligible riders). To utilize the Country Bus program, riders must schedule their trips in advance, usually a few days ahead of time. Accepted forms of payment include checks, cash, and pre-payment. The program offers shared van rides, providing a cost-effective and community-oriented transportation solution. Country Bus ensures a convenient experience by offering curb-to-curb transportation services for its passengers.
