Provides rides for any purpose, to all people, and no membership is required.
The Demand-Response program offers a convenient transportation option for older adults who may need non-emergency medical transportation within their community or between different counties. This program utilizes taxis to provide public transit services, allowing for private rides via car or van. Riders are required to schedule their trips in advance, with options for on-demand scheduling available.
Payment for the program can be made through various means, including insurance, vouchers, donations, or Medicaid payments. There are different pricing tiers based on the distance traveled, with flat fees for rides within one county and additional charges for crossing county lines. The program also offers shared rides and door-to-door transportation services, accommodating riders with service animals and assistance with packages or bags as needed.
Overall, the Demand-Response program aims to provide reliable and accessible transportation options for older adults, ensuring they can easily travel for medical appointments, errands, or social activities within their local community and beyond.
