The Medical Transportation Services program offers non-emergency medical transportation for older adults. This program provides rides via taxi and public transit, ensuring convenient and reliable transportation. Riders can schedule rides in advance, typically needing to do so at least one day ahead. The program accepts various forms of payment, including insurance, vouchers, donations, and Medicaid payments. Pricing can vary, with options for hourly rates, flat fees, or mileage-based charges. Membership fees may be required, but there are also options for free or subsidized services for Medicaid recipients. This paratransit program aims to assist older adults with mobility challenges by providing door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation services. Additionally, the program offers flexibility in scheduling, allowing for on-demand rides and providing shared transportation options. Riders can expect friendly and accommodating service, with the option for drivers to wait while passengers run errands or attend appointments. Service animals are welcome on rides, ensuring accessibility for all older adults who require medical transportation.
