The Community Transportation Program is designed to offer convenient and accessible transportation options for older adults who require non-emergency medical transportation. Operating as a public transit service, this program provides transportation primarily via taxi or other private car services, ensuring a comfortable journey for riders. Participants are encouraged to schedule their rides in advance, with various payment options available such as insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, and membership or flat fees. For added convenience, the program accepts payments through different methods including Medicaid, check, credit card, and cash, making it easy for older adults to access the services. Riders can benefit from scheduled transportation on fixed routes or on-demand scheduling for shared rides, allowing flexibility in their travel plans. Additionally, the program offers paratransit services, ensuring that all participants, including those with service animals, experience safe and reliable transportation from doorstep to destination. With features like door-to-door or curb-to-curb service, as well as the option for drivers to wait during errands or appointments, the Community Transportation Program aims to cater to the diverse needs of older adults seeking transportation assistance.
