King County Metro Accessible Services and Reduced Fares

Learn More About This Program

King County Metro offers bus service, rail service (including monorail, streetcar, regional train, and light rail), water taxis, and ride share coordination. If you are an older adult or person who has a disability, you can get a reduced fare.

The fixed-route buses are accessible. If you cannot use the regular bus, streetcar, or light rail service because of a disability, you can apply for the paratransit service. The Access Transportation program offers shared rides around the same times and areas as the regular bus routes. Rides must be arranged at least 1 day in advance.

How do I apply?

The program website includes an online self-assessment that can help you decide whether to apply for Access Transportation on the ADA Paratransit site.

To apply for a reduced fare permit, you can print and fill out an application and send it in according to the directions on the form. For more information, visit the Regional Reduced Fare Permit website.
