If you are 65 to 69 years of age, you can purchase fare cards for 50% off the normal fare for bus and light-rail services. Riders who are 70 years of age or older ride for free. You don’t need to be a Houston resident to get the discount.
How do I apply?
To get a discounted fare card if you are 65 years of age or older, you can complete the form and either take it in person to the METRO RideStore or mail it to the address on the form.
To get the discounted fare card based on disability, you must come in person to the METRO RideStore office with a government ID and documentation of a disability. Call the office for more information about how to apply.
