Aging In Place

Access-A-Ride

1 min read

This program provides you with shared ride, door-to-door service if you have a disability and are unable to use public bus or subway services for some or all of your trips. In addition to traveling throughout New York City, the program also provides service within 3/4 of a mile of the city border to nearby areas of Nassau and Westchester counties.

Access-A-Ride operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through private carriers that are under contract with NYC Transit. The cost of the ride is the same as regular NYC Transit.

You may travel with 1 guest and 1 personal care attendant. The guest will pay the same fare as you pay, but the personal care attendant may ride for free.
