Transportation Services

Learn More About This Program

This program provides you with transportation services in your area to help you get to medical appointments, run errands, attend social activities, and take care of other needs.

In many cases, your local office will have a transportation specialist called a mobility manager who can help you. This individual will consult with you to find a specific transportation program that best meets your personal needs.

In some cases, the mobility manager may actually arrange the transportation for you. In general, transportation options and services provided may include:

  • Paratransit vehicles if you use a wheelchair or have limited mobility
  • Reduced bus fares
  • Vouchers for discounted taxis or wheelchair-accessible rides
  • Volunteer drivers
  • Medical transport vans
  • Dial-a-ride
  • Mileage reimbursement to a volunteer who gives you a ride

Please note: The type of transportation services available to you will depend on where you live and may not always be offered in your area.

How do I apply?

To find out what services are available in your area, please contact your local office or find your local mobility manager.
