Provides rides for any purpose, to all people, and no membership is required.
The Public Transportation program provides older adults a non-emergency medical transportation service through taxis or public transit such as buses and trains. Riders can schedule rides at least a day in advance, with the option of on-demand scheduling, and are assisted with packages or bags. The program enables payment through insurance, vouchers, donations, check, credit card, cash, or Medicaid, making it accessible and convenient for older adults. The pricing details are typically $1-$2 per ride depending on the distance traveled, with an option for a $3 All Day pass.
This program also offers a paratransit service, allowing for door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation, and provides both private and shared rides. Additionally, riders can benefit from a driver who will wait for them during errands or appointments. The program caters to the needs of older adults by permitting service animals on rides, providing fixed schedules, and offering transportation options through cars, vans, or a taxi/rideshare service.
