The Public Transit program offers a convenient and affordable transportation option for older adults within the area. With a flat fee structure, riders can enjoy in-county trips for $3.00 each way, and an additional $3.00 is applied for crossing county lines. Furthermore, for any additional stops that are 15 minutes or less, there is a minimal charge of $1.00. Children under 6 can benefit from half-fare rates, and one accompanying escort can ride at no extra cost.
To access this service, riders are required to schedule their trips in advance, allowing for efficient planning and on-demand scheduling. Payments can be made in cash, providing a hassle-free payment method. Transportation is carried out via vans, ensuring comfortable and reliable journeys for all passengers. Door-to-door service is available, prioritizing the convenience and ease of travel for older adults using the program. Additionally, riders are welcome to bring their service animals along for the journey, offering an inclusive and accommodating travel experience.
