Public Transportation is a convenient public transit program designed to assist older adults with their transportation needs. This program offers rides within the county for a flat rate of $3.00 each way, with an additional $3.00 charge for crossing county lines. Additional stops can be requested for $1.00 each, as long as they are 15 minutes or less. Children under 6 can also ride at a discounted fare, while one escort is allowed to ride free of charge. To use this program, riders need to schedule their trips in advance, allowing for proper planning. Payments can be made via check or cash, providing flexibility for riders. Public Transportation offers shared rides, promoting a sense of community among passengers. Additionally, the program provides curb-to-curb transportation, ensuring older adults are safely taken from their pickup location to their destination.
