The Cleveland Urban Area Transit System (CUATS) is a comprehensive transportation program designed to provide older adults with non-emergency medical transportation services. Operating as a public transit system, CUATS offers convenient transportation options via taxi, car, van, bus, or train. Riders have the flexibility to schedule rides at least one day in advance, with the option of on-demand scheduling available as well. To ensure accessibility and affordability, CUATS accepts various payment methods including insurance, vouchers, donations, credit cards, and cash. The program offers a range of pricing options such as a flat fee, hourly rate, or membership fee, with fares starting at $1 for a one-way trip. Additionally, riders can opt for day passes, multiple-ride tickets, or monthly unlimited ride packages at competitive rates. CUATS prioritizes rider comfort and convenience by providing door-to-door and curb-to-curb transportation services. The program also accommodates individuals with special needs by allowing service animals on board and assisting with packages or bags as needed. Whether older adults require transportation for medical appointments, errands, or social outings, CUATS strives to make travel safe, reliable, and tailored to their unique needs.
