How can this program help me?

This program may give you an income tax credit if you are a qualifying older adult and you rent or own your home. The credit is refundable and is based on the property taxes you have paid. If you are a renter, you have automatically paid your property taxes by paying rent. There is a maximum credit set by the program.

How do I get help?

To apply for this program, complete the appropriate schedule on the  Montana Individual Income Tax Return (Form 2). If you don’t need to file an income tax return, you only need to fill out certain parts of Form 2. Visit the  program website for more information about the form and how to file your return by mail or online.
