The Georgia School Tax Exemption Program helps some homeowners lower or waive school taxes they owe. This benefit is offered under the state’s Homestead Exemption program, which helps people save money on property taxes for the home they live in.
What is the Georgia School Tax Exemption Program?
The Georgia School Tax Exemption Program helps homeowners lower the school taxes they owe. If you qualify, $10,000 of your home’s value may be exempt from school and other property-related taxes. If you are approved to receive school tax exemption, this tax benefit will automatically renew every year. However, you must let the county you live in know if you no longer qualify for this exemption.
