Please make sure to contact Southern Rhode Island Volunteers: Volunteer Rides to confirm details of their transportation services.

Provides rides for any purpose, as long as you meet one of the following criteria: you are 60+ years old, you have a disability, you are a veteran, or you have no other means of transportation.

The Volunteer Rides program offers complimentary transportation services to older adults in the community. This initiative relies on donations from generous individuals to support their mission of providing rides via car for older adults. Riders can schedule their transportation needs a few days in advance within the program's operating hours, which are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM. Whether an older adult requires door-to-door assistance or curb-to-curb transportation, Volunteer Rides strives to accommodate these preferences. By eliminating the cost barrier associated with transportation, this program aims to enhance the independence and mobility of older adults, enabling them to access necessary services and social engagements with ease.
