The Shared Ride program offers transportation options for older adults through public transit services. Trips to senior centers are complimentary, while medical trips for older adults are available at a reduced rate ranging from $.90 to $4.50 per ride. For other purposes, rides cost $1.75 to $9.00 per trip. Riders from the general public pay the full fare of $11.50 to $51.50 per ride. This program provides transportation using buses or trains, requiring older adults to schedule their trips a few days in advance. Riders can make payments by check or in cash, with the option for pre-payment available. Shared Ride allows for shared transportation, promoting a sense of community during travel. The service ensures curb-to-curb transportation, offering convenience and accessibility for older adults. When utilizing the Shared Ride program, older adults are encouraged to plan their trips ahead of time, providing a reliable and flexible transportation option for various needs.
