The Shared Ride Program offers transportation services for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and the general public. Pricing for individuals aged 65 and older is free for rides under 35 miles, $3.00 for trips between 35-50 miles, and $3.75 for trips over 50 miles. For persons with disabilities, the cost ranges from $1.05 to $10.90 based on the distance traveled, while the general public is charged between $7.00 and $72.50 depending on the miles covered. Rides must be scheduled in advance, typically a few days beforehand, and can be paid for by check or cash. The program operates through shared van rides and offers curb-to-curb transportation for convenience. This program aims to provide a cost-effective and accessible transportation option for individuals who may face mobility challenges or lack access to private transportation alternatives.
