The Taxi Service/Wheelchair Accessible Taxi program offers transportation services with wheelchair-accessible taxis at an hourly rate. This non-emergency medical transportation program utilizes taxis for public transit, offering private rides via car. Riders are required to schedule their trips at least a day in advance, with the option to pay with insurance, vouchers, donations, or a membership fee. The pricing details involve a $2.70 pickup fee plus $2.30 per mile, accepting payments through Medicaid, check, credit card, or cash. Participants have the flexibility to book on-demand rides or schedule trips in advance, even a few days or a week prior. The program allows for assistance with packages or bags, door-to-door, curb-to-curb transportation, and the accommodation of service animals. With the option for shared rides, pre-payments, and credit card transactions, this program caters to the varied transportation needs of older adults, ensuring reliable and accessible mobility solutions.
