The Veteran Transportation Service is a non-emergency medical transportation program designed to assist older adults in accessing necessary medical appointments and services. This program offers free transportation services, although donations are encouraged to support its operations. Riders are required to schedule their rides in advance, typically a few days ahead of their appointment. Utilizing shared van rides following fixed routes, this service ensures that older adults can reach their destinations conveniently and safely.
When booking a ride through the Veteran Transportation Service, riders are encouraged to plan using the Rides In Advance service. The program provides curb-to-curb transportation, allowing older adults to be dropped off and picked up directly at their designated locations. Additionally, riders are welcome to bring their service animals along for the journey, ensuring all necessary companionship and assistance is accommodated throughout the transportation process.
