The Medical Assistance Transportation Program offers transportation services to support older adults in accessing medical appointments and healthcare services. The program provides free public transit options, including bus or train services, and also offers mileage reimbursement at a rate of $0.25 per mile for those who prefer to use their own vehicle. Additionally, parking costs incurred during medical appointments can be reimbursed with receipts. To utilize this program, older adults need to schedule their rides in advance, typically a few days beforehand, during the program's operating hours of Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The transportation provided through this program is shared, allowing multiple individuals to travel together to nearby medical facilities. Furthermore, the program ensures convenient curb-to-curb transportation, prioritizing the safety and comfort of older adults during their journeys to medical appointments.
