Provides rides for only the following purposes: medical appointments. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.
The Call a Ride program is a versatile transportation service designed to assist older adults with getting to their medical appointments, running errands, or attending social engagements. This program offers on-demand scheduling, allowing riders to secure a taxi or rideshare service conveniently. Riders can book private rides in advance, with the option of scheduling a driver who will wait while they complete their tasks.
One notable feature of the Call a Ride program is its flexibility in payment methods. Riders can use insurance, vouchers, coupons, credit cards, checks, or cash to pay for their trips. For those eligible, Medicaid payments are also accepted. Additionally, the program offers the choice of a membership fee, hourly rate, flat fee, or charging by the mile, catering to different preferences and needs.
Another benefit of the program is its commitment to accessibility and convenience. Riders can request door-to-door transportation, ensuring a smooth journey from their starting point to their destination. Service animals are welcome on board, and assistance with packages or bags is provided. The program also offers shared rides, allowing riders to save costs and interact with others during their travels.
